Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), currently having more than 850 centres worldwide, established Shri Shri Krishna Balaram Temple in Vrindavan in 1975. This area is known as Raman Reti where over 5,000 years ago Lord Krishna, along with Lord Balaram with their cowherd friends used to herd their cows in the beautiful and soothing sands of the area.
Srila Prabhupada, coming in the ancient Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya, himself installed the beautiful Deities of Shri Shri Krishna Balaram, Shri Shri Radha Shyamsundar, Shri Lalita & Shri Vishakha along with Shri Shri Gaura Nitai. A nearby Goshala was also established by Srila Prabhupada.
The Krishna Balaram temple has now become the most important temple for the worldwide ISKCON society.
Along with the highest standards of Deity worship this temple, which is now visited by millions of visitors annually, also has a continuous nonstop Kirtan taking place since 1975.
Demolishing the old
Unfortunately, most of the buildings, including the Gurukul complex, built in 1975, have now become structurally unsafe. This has been confirmed by structural engineers who strongly recommend that the old buildings be demolished for safety reasons.
Upcoming Krishna Balram Cultural Center
As a consequence of this finding ISKCON Vrindavan management has been working with a team of professional consultants to produce a suitable and environment friendly design for the new proposed facilities. With just over 2,00,000 square feet of area to be constructed the proposed design has many features that will fulfil the needs of the community for many generations to come. There will be a new bigger guest house, new large Govinda's restaurant, new spacious gift shops area, new office spaces, ample underground parking, and considerable landscaped open spaces. There will also be an extension to the current popular Srila Prabhupada museum.
Terms and Conditions
➤In Case Of Institution/Trust maximum period is 25 Years.
➤Term is for the life time of the Donor.
➤ After donor's demise spouse can occupy the unit for a maximum period of 25 years from the date of the contract.
►Donor with his/her written permission can allow friends, relatives, family members to stay in the unit.
► In case donor passes away before or shortly after full payment one of the family member can come forward to take over.
➤Free devotee parsadam.
➤Each room shall be provided two additional mattress other than existing bedding.
➤Common kitchen in the guest house.
➤Wi-Fi is free.
➤Room will have air conditioner.
➤Eligibility of Donors- must belong to the wider Iskcon family. Preference to be given to initiated ISKCON devotees in good standing. Recommendation letter from local authority/GBC for congregation members.
➤For 30 days in Kartik period - the sponsorship amount in, option 1, doubles for all types of accommodation.
► Payment Methods-by bank transfer (preferred) and by Cheque.
►Rollover Period-this will not be allowed.
➤Room booking -at least one month in advance for both non kartik and kartik periods.
➤Renting of rooms -no renting to a third party will be allowed.
➤Access to unused accommodation- if the allocated period is not utilized by the donor, then the rooms will be used by the guest house manager.
➤The 15 day booking blocks for the kartik period must be specified by the donor.
➤Upgrade of sponsorship is available subject to availability.
